National Railroad Passenger Corporation (Amtrak) has an opening for a Lead Technologist Client Device in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Duties: Evaluate and recommend new products or tools for the organization. Make recommendations and influence long-term technology strategy and planning for multiple business units. Assist in the development and analysis of source selection strategies. Work with service providers to ensure that their in-scope technical solutions are consistent with the enterprise business strategy and architecture. Serve as a consultant and escalation point for issues and act as back up for Software Deployment Lead. Provide project managers with technical consultation and advice, enabling quick response to inquiries related to the program/project. Provide technical analyses to help define, assess, and monitor the technical aspects of the program/project or service. Design innovative solutions using new technologies. Troubleshoot existing information systems or networks to identify errors or deficiencies. Lead team efforts to resolve support issues escalated by senior operations, development personnel or service provider personnel. Work with vendors during the problem resolution process. Identify opportunities to improve business processes via new technologies. Create software packages for automated installation on Windows based computers. Work with Business Units to ensure that their in-scope technical solutions are consistent with the enterprise business strategy and architecture. Provide support for the Principle Technologist as needed within AMTRAK and closely partner with the Client Computing Image Management Team. Package software for deployment to all or a subset of Amtrak's Windows based computers.

 Requirements: Employer will accept Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or related field, followed by seven years of progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience in job offered or seven years of progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience in a related occupation. Experience must include: 1) Windows desktop environment; 2) Windows Installer (MSI) technology; 3) InstallShield; 4) AdminStudio; 5) Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (Formerly SCCM); 6) PowerShell, VB Script; 7) PowerShell AppDeploy Toolkit; 8) Wrapping packages using InstallScript into single executable; 9) Publishing packages, creating collections and deploying packages; 10) Third level support on production environment, troubleshooting application related product issues.
