Job Summary
Installation, Maintenance, and Repair of electrical equipment and wiring. Assets to maintain include Bridges, Feeders, Circuit Breakers, Lighting, Outlets, Wire, Signs, etc..
Essential Functions
- Must pass examinations in initial RWP and AMT-2 Classes.
- Must demonstrate knowledge or maintenance or electrical assets.
- Must have prior satisfactory work attendance record, work performance, and safety record.
- Troubleshooting electrical problems and what is required to make repairs.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
- Must read, write, and speak the English language clearly.
- Basic electrical theory, knowledge coupled with the desire and ability to learn.
- Must have a current valid driver's license at hiring.
- Must be able to lift 50lb or more.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the maintenance of railroad equipment.
- Completion of technical school or apprenticeship programExperience as an electrician or lineman with knowledge of tools, rigging, electricity and safety procedures.
- Basic Electrical theory, knowledge of electrical components and use of various electrical testing devices.
- Formal electrical training.
- Valid Master Electrician's License or the ability to obtain Electrician’s license within 180 days of employment.
Communications and Interpersonal Skills
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
The hourly range is $30.95 – $41.26 (with opportunity for increases, as per the applicable collective bargaining agreement, after beginning employment).
