SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Incumbent will work with OBS and OBS Managers to ensure all OBS positions are filled daily this includes job vacancies, created by vacations, leave of absence, extra assignments, late or no shows.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Ensure proper use of the extra board in accordance with all applicable union contracts
- Keep accurate records of employee assignments; pull running boards and complete LMS Raw Punch report.
- Ensure all employees sign in within prescribed time limits and are in compliance with Amtrak’s Uniform Policy.
- Prepares and distributes crew discrepancy notices as required.
- Knowledge of accounting procedures to ensure all assigned tools and equipment are logged according to procedures.
- Distribute, record and keep accurate records of issued tools and equipment for OBS employees.
- Post and distribute all relative employee related correspondence.
- Incumbent is responsible for handling sensitive records and information; therefore confidentiality is a must.
- Ordering office supplies, supplies for the train, and cleaning supplies.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Working knowledge of ARROW, CICSPROD and LMS systems.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Familiarity bulletins and bid, vacation application forms.
- Ability to make quick decisions and multi-task.
- Good knowledge of train schedules and equipment.
- Requiring minimal supervision and have superior time management skills.
- Knowledge of accounting procedures to ensure all assigned tools and equipment are logged according to procedures.
- Employees must conform to Amtrak’s “Standards of Excellence” and prescribed code of dress.
- Must have a H.S.Diploma or GED
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
- A few years experience in Stations.
- Employees must conform to Amtrak’s “Standards of Excellence” and prescribed code of dress.
- Two years college preferred.
COMMUNICATIONS AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Must have a Strong work ethic.
The hourly rate is $28.30 -$37.73 (with opportunity for increases, as per the applicable collective bargaining agreement, after beginning employment).
