POSITION SUMMARY:
Work with the networking team to support Operational Technology (OT) IP networks in the train operations environment. This position will include mentoring and support experience with cybersecurity and upgrade projects as well as general support of ongoing network operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Assist the network team with design and implementation of network upgrades. 
• Assist with evaluation and implementation of Information Security countermeasure projects. 
• Work on documenting proposed and as in-service conditions of the network 
• Assist with troubleshooting for day-to-day network trouble ticket resolution. 
• Participate in project meetings with both internal and external stakeholders.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be actively pursuing a degree at an accredited educational institution.
• Must be actively pursuing an undergraduate/graduate degree in Information Technology or Computer Science.
• Must have at least 2 year of academic undergraduate studies completed or a junior status at minimum.
• Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Proficient with IP routing and switching technology implementation. 
• Familiar with commercial Network Monitoring software packages. 
• Understanding of common and advanced cybersecurity techniques. 
• Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks. 
• Proficient with Microsoft Visio and other MS Office applications.

COMMUNICATION AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

The hourly range is $17.50 per hour - $35.00 per hour. Pay is based on factors including school year, program of study, etc. In addition paid internships include Amtrak rail pass privileges as a part of the experience along with one (1) PTO day per academic year.
