SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Position is responsible for monitoring all Thruway buses operating within the Northwest and Southwest Division, issuing delay advisories as needed. Position will communicate any necessary Thruway bus information to the Thruway Bus Supervisors, Senior Manager of Bus Operations, Manager of Train Operations at Oakland Operations as well as the Consolidated National Operation Center (CNOC) when the Manager of Train Operations at Oakland Operations is not on duty. 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Position is responsible for maintaining and faxing or emailing all delay reports to the various railroads as needed.
  • Position will input delay reports within the entire Amtrak system, including reports due to eDR failures and all delay report corrections.
  • Position is responsible for communicating with division end points to ensure delay reports are received in a timely fashion. 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Position is responsible for taking Operational Status (OS) calls from Thruway buses at various points throughout the Divisions for input into ARROW.
  • Position will handle requests for information from bus drivers, Bus Managers, Ticket Offices and Amtrak Police.
  • Position is responsible to communicate crucial information to all necessary parties concerning Thruway bus operations and their relationship to Train operations.
  • Position will be responsible for maintaining Bus Authorization numbers for extra sections of bus service, either Amtrak Thruway or emergency service.
  • High School Diploma or GED.


COMMUNICATIONS AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
Must have excellent written and oral communication skills. 

 

The hourly rate is $29.77 - $39.69 (with opportunity for increases, as per the applicable collective bargaining agreement, after beginning employment).
