SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
The primary goal of this position is to maximize the value of Amtrak real estate while minimizing the risk potential to the Railroad via assisting and reviewing third-party agreements relating to Pipes & Wires, Telecommunication and Advertising pertaining to Amtrak property

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
•    Review applications and project documents submitted by outside parties for projects to be constructed on, over or adjacent to Amtrak property to ensure compliance with Amtrak and industry standards 
•    Upon request, provide technical expertise to other departments and interpretation of real estate decisions
•    Develops and processes contract documents
•    Participates in project site meetings, reviews third party applications and other submissions, and supplies detailed comments to the third party
•    Works closely with internal stakeholders to understand the impact of the third-party project proposal on Railroad operations.  
•    Manages executed agreements for the duration of the life of the agreement, including ensuring agreement is properly set up, as well as monitoring invoicing, collection, and payable activities.
•    Other duties as assigned

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
•    Bachelor’s Degree required OR equivalent combination of training, education and relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
•    6 years of relevant experience required.
•    Must be an effective communicator with the ability to represent Amtrak at various project functions and interface with outside agencies.
•    Must collaboratively interact with all departments in the company, co-workers, and outside agency individuals to exchange project and technical information.
•    Must be capable of performing project duties with minimal supervision. 
•    Must be a self-starter and motivated individual capable of anticipating the next step in a process or project and finding out what information / knowledge is required to answer a question or complete a task

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
•    Bachelor's/Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Real Estate, or a related field preferred.
•    8+ years relevant experience preferred. 
•    Railroad real estate experience or experience in a similar industry.
•    Extensive experience in design and constructability aspects of third-party projects in the railroad environment.
•    Experience using Maximo, SAP, Ariba, Documentum, and geographic information systems.
•    Knowledge and understanding of passenger rail operations and rail infrastructure environment.
•    Knowledge of work rules and safety standards including AMT-2, Roadway Worker Protection, and NORAC

 

COMMUNICATIONS AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
