TITLE: Senior Industrial Engineer

LOCATION: Philadelphia, PA  

 

DUTIES:Develop process improvement programs to increase workforce productivity, reduce unit costs, and enhance asset utilization. Review business practices to identify and improve resource utilization, maximize inventory efficiency, and improve the quality of process outcomes. Coordinate with Systems Engineering and Digital technology to analyze performance metrics using available digital technologies. Identify areas of improvement in the utilization of systems and digital technologies. Lead efforts to ensure that financial investments and business process changes are supported with financial analysis through the development of business cases. Support the implementation of Infrastructure Maintenance and Construction Services Department’s Asset Management Strategy by establishing force account requirements to perform preventive maintenance plans; building production standards of maintenance and operations work; and coordinating the development of bills of material and equipment needs in support of preventive maintenance plans. Lead efforts to enable data driven decision making by Engineering management. Evaluate the effectiveness of internal processes and controls and recommend enhancements to documentation, and process flow.


REQUIREMENTS: Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field followed by five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience as a Senior Industrial Engineer or any occupation related to Industrial Engineering. Must also have five (5) years of experience: (1) Leading process improvement projects from identification to implementation and impact analysis; (2) Conducting process mapping using quality management tools such as Check Sheet, Histogram, Pareto Analysis, Fishbone Diagram, Scatter Diagram, Flowcharts, Control Charts, and lean principles to define value, map value streams, and optimize performance; (3) Partnering with cross-functional teams to evaluate stakeholder needs and ensure deliverables are strategically aligned; (4) Performing time studies using industry accepted industrial engineering and capacity analysis methods to identify process bottlenecks and limitations; (5) Driving field studies and crafting data-driven business cases to drive automation initiatives that enhance operational efficiency; (6) Cultivating stakeholder relationships to refine requirements, prioritize initiatives, and enhance feedback loops. All experience may be acquired concurrently. Travel 25% of the time to observe track maintenance activities, perform field studies, and document observations for Amtrak stations in Northeast Corridor. Remote work permitted in accordance with company policy. All positions require pre-employment background check verification and a pre-employment drug screen.

 

Salary: $124,238 per year
