SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
A qualified candidate will lead the Digital Product strategy for one of the Digital Technology (DT) organizational units. As a Digital Product Manager, your job will be to develop product strategy, investment strategy through lean budgets, prioritization using value streams, and creation of long-term product roadmaps coordinated and aligned with technology roadmaps for the respective DT organizational unit. Promote company-wide participation in the creation and protection of standard practices. The Product Manager function will determine and oversee the delivery of the product strategy and roadmap for DT products to achieve business outcomes and financial objectives. Their responsibilities include coordinating with DT, business, and stakeholders to set high-level priorities and providing strategic direction and oversight to DT product teams.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Create and oversee a comprehensive long-term product management strategy for the respective DT organizational unit.
- Champion a culture of product management at all levels of the organization.
- Capture and socialize effective product management practices inside and outside the Digital Product Management team.
- Develop a deep understanding of business goals and processes to inform product priorities and improvement recommendations.
- Develop strong relationships and regularly communicate with product stakeholders and customers to shape the product strategy and surface and prioritize needs.
- Lead product strategy, planning, and life cycle management efforts.
- Monitor business, market, and technology trends to inform product strategy and proactively propose new solutions.
- Advise senior and executive leadership team on near-term, medium-term, and future digital product strategy.
- Establish product roadmaps and release plans that satisfy requirements and achieve business outcomes.
- Contribute to translating business requirements into actionable product and technical requirements.
- Continuously monitor and evaluate product performance and proactively champion product improvements.
- Determine internal and contract/external resources and skills required for the product team to deliver on the product roadmap.
- Guide the product engineering team to scope, plan and deliver work, applying established delivery methodologies (e.g., agile methods) and best practices (e.g., reusability).
- Proactively identify and resolve blockers to achieve business objectives for the product, including technical and resourcing challenges.
- Ensure alignment and adherence to corporate, financial, and IT standards (e.g., architecture, compliance, security).
- Increase adoption and consumption of product capabilities.
- Manage investment decision-making and finances for the product, taking a return-on-investment approach to increasing the value while minimizing product costs.
- Define, track, and communicate relevant OKRs for the product to measure performance and contribution to business goals and strategy.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to improve customer-centric value thinking around the company.
- Keep abreast of industry trends and the impact of disruptors.
- Deliver or support training and education on product management practices.
- Manage and inspire staff who are part of the product management team.
- Provide challenging and growth-oriented opportunities for team members.

The salary/hourly range is $194,410-$251,960 for the Sr Dir Digital Product Mgmt. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, internal equity, etc. Depending on an employee’s assigned worksite or location, Amtrak may consider a geo-pay differential to be applied to the employee’s base salary. Amtrak may offer additional incentive and pay programs to recognize and reward our employees, including a short-term incentive bonus based upon factors such as individual and company performance that is commensurate with the level of the position and/or long-term incentive plan compensation.
