We are looking for a Social Media Intern to work with our Social Team to help develop amazing content for our social channels, inclusive of Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube, and LinkedIn, and to learn and facilitate the review of social analytics and listening to empower those creative strategies  The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the major social channels and how they work along with a strong creative sense and desire to work with a team to engage our audience.
Content Support
• Blog Support: Use Adobe Experience Manager to transfer blog articles from our WordPress to our website (training will be provided). 
• YouTube Audit: Update our top YouTube videos’ titles, descriptions, keywords and thumbnails for search engine optimization.
• User-generated Content (UGC): use internal programs to collect and organize UGC across all our social accounts.
• Video Production: create short videos using in-house software and creative assets focused on educating users about Amtrak’s offerings and 500+ destinations.
Paid Ads and Analytics
• Data collection: Assist it pulling supplemental data from native platforms
• Competitive + industry reporting: weekly review of current social best practices to better inform organic and paid ad strategies.
• Audience analysis:  work across departments to periodically collect audience data.
Social Listening
• Supplement Social Listening Lead’s reports with native platform scrubbing and analysis.
• Maintain dashboards across listening platforms.
• Trending alerts: notify Leads of trending topics that pertain to travel.
• Actively pursuing an undergraduate degree in Communications or Marketing at an accredited educational institution 
• Must be actively pursuing a degree at an accredited educational institution. 
• Must have at least 1 year of academic undergraduate studies completed or a sophomore status
• Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Available to work a minimum of 15 hours per week between the days/hours: Monday-Friday, 8a-5p


Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
