SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Primary role is the day-to-day contact for the state marketing departments for routes on the west coast including California, Oregon, and Washington. The Specialist will collaborate with the states and internal stakeholders on marketing and advertising efforts on a route-specific basis to promote ridership. The Specialist will manage and/or coordinate projects as requested by state partners (i.e., marketing plans, advertising, promotional fares, CVB/Tourism Board partnerships) as well as assist state partners in making changes to existing marketing/promotional initiatives.  Support marketing efforts for other states as required

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

•    Provide marketing support and/or coordination for projects proposed by the state partners. Garner a thorough understanding of key State partner routes and general awareness of the territory.
•    Provide conflict resolution of issues under the Marketing purview. Develop regularly scheduled calls to ensure relationship maintenance and to provide corporate initiative updates.
•    Maintain promotional fares orders, new and renewals. Coordinate with E-Commerce team to have webpages created or revised for promotions. Provide data results and interpretation to State partners.
•    Handle reservations/ticketing for partnerships/vendors promotions familiarization trips, photo shoots and meetings; maintains logs of all activities 

•    Encourage and manage utilization of Amtrak provided marketing assets/tools. 

•    Maintain, update and support the Marketing Asset Depository (Portal) internally and with a third-party agency.

•    Assist with the development of quarterly and ad-hoc reports for State partners.

•    Collaborate with key State partners and their advertising agencies to provide content and Brand guidance for State partner route microsites and social media channels. Liaise between State partners and Amtrak to ensure content remain current on Amtrak-owned channels.  
•    Collaborate to identify, develop, and sustain promotional campaigns to target various state partner consumer segments e.g., universities/students, families, etc. Work with internal departments to execute and promote on Amtrak channels and report results

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

•    Bachelor’s Degree required or an equivalent combination of education training and relevant work experience.
•    Minimum of 3+ years relevant experience 
•    Ability to manage multiple tasks and the confidence to make decisions with little or no direct management oversight.
•    Self-motivation and the ability to work in a large organization with minimal direct supervisory support


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

•    Strong understanding of transportation marketing.
•    Familiarity with the overall Amtrak national network.
•    5+ years relevant experience
