SUMMARY OF DUTIES
The Intern – Analytics and Information Management (AIM) is responsible for the analysis, design, enhancement, and support for solutions that address business needs. The position requires collaborating with the larger team to enhance Amtrak’s analytics and data platforms. The resource will use analytics tools and methodologies to supplement and improve the analytics platform. The resource works with PMs, business stakeholders and team members to understand scope and requirements to analyze and deliver projects. Solutions must be aligned with business and IT strategies and in compliance with the organization’s architectural standards. 


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Collaborate with PMs, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand scope and requirements for projects. 
• Develop project documentation such as Project Charters, weekly/Monthly Project Status Reports. 
• Analyze and Develop forecasts for Programs/projects based on Actuals and remaining Budget. 
• Assist with creating Purchase Orders/Purchase Requisitions with the help of Finance and  Procurement departments and facilitate timely vendor invoice payments. 
• Organize and document multiyear budget as per the requirements and create multiyear spend plans. 
• Develop reports and presentations to articulate project deliverables. 
• The role will have the opportunity to work with Financial Planning for multiyear Programs/Projects. 


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Must be actively pursuing a degree at an accredited educational institution.  
• Must be actively pursuing an undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, Management or similar.  
• Must have at least 1 year of academic undergraduate studies completed or a sophomore status at minimum.  
• Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher 
• Experience with or keen interest in Analytics and Information Management. 


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience working with Finance and Analytics. 


COMMUNICATIONS AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS 
Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
