SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
The Senior Records & Information Management Specialist within the Amtrak Law Department supports the Manager, Records and Information Management in the processing and tracking of Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests received and in records management responsibilities for Amtrak. The person in this position may also assist the Legal Support Team

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
•    Supports the Manager, Records and Information Management, in carrying out the FOIA and records management processes throughout Amtrak.
•    Monitors and responds to requests related to records management, including placing and tracking orders for records management supplies, offsite storage requests, and destruction processes.
•    Monitors and tracks FOIA requests in conjunction with the Manager, Records and Information Management, acting as liaison between the FOIA Office and the rest of Amtrak, as well as serving as a point of contact for and communicating with FOIA requesters.
•    As time permits, assists the Legal Support Team with tasks.
•    Other duties as assigned

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

The successful candidate for this position must have:

•    BS/BA degree.
•    Three years of work experience relevant to the KSAs

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
•    Degree or background in information and library science or related work experience.

 

COMMUNICATIONS AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
