SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
The Quality Process Engineer through quality management and process techniques, leads the practice of controlling exactly how a mechanical process delivers maintenance aligned with customer requirements. This position will lead continuous improvement initiatives ensuring a high level of quality that meets mechanical expectation regarding established KPI’s.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Proactive review and improvement of systems and processes to ensure satisfaction of predetermined quality standards
• Analyzing, identifying and implementing production process improvements which will enhance capability and performance
• Meeting with production teams to offer recommendations on efficiencies and quality enhancements
• Facilitating Solution Focus Team agendas to help make necessary improvements and changes to process related issues in the production environment
• Manage / facilitate multiple projects cross functional and cross department.  
• Ensuring safety requirements are met at all points of the production process

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Engineerging Management,   or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
• Demonstrated experience and documented success in achieving productivity and/or quality improvements through quality and process engineering techniques
• Minimum of 3 years experience in Industial, Process or Quality Engineering or relevant experience (minimum of 7 years relevant work experience in lieu of degree).
• Creative problem-solving skills and strong quantitative and analytical skills
• Project management knowledge with proficiency in MS Project
• Ability to manage multiple projects/processes effectively to timely conclusions
• Proficient in MS Office applications including Access and Project software
• Ability to learn new tasks (both complex and routine) in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing priorities
• Excellent written/oral communication skills
• Flexibility to work extended hours if required

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Simulations (AnyLogic,Tableau) and operations research
• SQL programming, Python

• PMP certification
• Demonstrated experience with Process Management implementation and Control
• Working knowledge and experience with Reliability Centered Maintenance, Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing techniques
• Demonstrated experience/working knowledge of various data management business systems including SAP, Ariba and WMS
• Some experience in railroad related or similar transportation industry
• Some knowledge of various fleet and equipment nomenclature to include transportation industry style vehicles
• 8 or more years of relevant work experience.


COMMUNICATIONS AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
