Job Summary

The Senior Data & AI Advocate leads multi-domain enablement and adoption efforts that bridge business and technology, helping Amtrak teams apply data, AI, and automation capabilities with confidence and consistency.

This role designs and delivers reusable frameworks, starter kits, and accelerators that improve literacy, usability, and scale across data and AI platforms. Senior Advocates guide others in applying enablement standards, collaborate with engineers and product managers to embed best practices, and ensure that technical and business teams are aligned in how they leverage data and AI to create value.

Essential Functions

  • Lead the design, development, and delivery of reusable enablement assets—such as templates, starter kits (including reference code), playbooks, and accelerators for Amtrak’s data, AI, and automation platforms.
  • Define and enforce standards for enablement content, ensuring consistency, technical accuracy, and visual quality across all materials.
  • Partner with engineering, product, and governance teams to ensure new platform capabilities include onboarding content, sample code, and usage patterns.
  • Guide domain adoption by creating targeted materials, user guides, and marketplace assets tailored to business-specific needs.
  • Mentor junior Advocates, providing feedback, coaching, and quality reviews on content, technical accuracy, and communication effectiveness.
  • Gather user insights and usage analytics to evaluate adoption progress, identify friction points, and prioritize improvement areas.
  • Promote data literacy, platform fluency, and responsible use of AI by developing accessible learning resources and technical accelerators that scale across Amtrak.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Experience: 4–6 years of experience in data, analytics, AI, or enablement-related roles, including ownership of technical enablement initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading data or AI adoption programs or developing enterprise-level enablement frameworks.
  • Familiarity with marketplace content design and usage analytics.
  • Background in instructional design, UX writing, or developer advocacy.
  • Experience mentoring others or managing shared content repositories.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong technical proficiency across data, AI, and analytics platforms, with ability to design or review reference code and reusable components.
  • Proven capability to lead enablement initiatives or adoption campaigns that span multiple business domains.
  • Excellent written and visual communication skills, with ability to translate technical capabilities into actionable business materials.
  • Deep understanding of user adoption frameworks, onboarding design, and data literacy concepts.
  • Strong collaboration skills, with experience partnering across product, engineering, and governance functions.
  • Ability to measure adoption effectiveness and continuously improve enablement content based on feedback and analytics.

The salary/hourly range is $86,500.00 – $111,996.00. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. Depending on an employee’s assigned worksite or location, Amtrak may consider a geo-pay differential to be applied to the employee’s base salary. Amtrak may offer additional incentive and pay programs to recognize and reward our employees, including a short-term incentive bonus based upon factors such as individual and company performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.
