SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
The Digital Content Specialist – E-Commerce and Digital Channels:  is focused on the delivery of engaging and informative digital experiences that foster positive customer experiences and drive revenue for Amtrak. The position will be responsible for:

 

 

  • Define and maintain customer facing content placement across digital channels and displays.
  • Own the content development workstream across multiple projects.
  • Collaborate with cross domain teams with the common goal of creating informative experiences.
  • Utilize content management systems to ensure consistent messaging across a variety of Amtrak digital properties.

 


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Ensure the content strategy speaks to the needs of Amtrak customers.
  • Serve as subject matter expert in strategic content ideation of internal and external Amtrak applications.
  • Take ownership and drive the authoring of content available in all Amtrak digital channels.
  • Passionate about partnering with IT/UX project teams to create, refine, and advise project plans, requirements and business process documentation and resource plans.
  • Develop positive relationships with project stakeholders, business partners, and executive steering committee to establish an effective communication framework.
  • Provide support in the drafting of user stories.
  • Provide ongoing support in defect resolution and backlog management.

 


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3+ years of demonstrated success in crafting content strategies, building web experiences and authoring and maintaining customer facing content.
  • Bachelor’s degree required OR equivalent combination of training, education or relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 2 years of project management experience in IT, E-Commerce, Marketing or Transportation. 
  • 2 years of agile software development exposure.
  • Experience with researching and implementing business software solutions and working with technical support teams to resolve issues.
  • Demonstrated experience with AEM (Adobe) and/or other content management systems.
  • Skilled in collecting and responding to input from multiple sources (users, testers, engineering, competitive products, management, etc.) 
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a broad spectrum of colleagues, including designers, software engineers, senior executives and partners
  • Outstanding organizational, management, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Word, and Visio).

 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BA/BS degree in design or technical field.
  • 5+ years’ experience building consumer facing digital experiences in an Agile environment.
  • Experience in the travel industry and e-commerce.
  • 3+ years of experience with Atlassian tools, eg, Jira and Confluence.
  • 2+ years of Adobe Analytics experience
  • Experience with consumer facing informational displays.
  • Attention to detail.

 

 

COMMUNICATIONS AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:

  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
