The Director IT – Information Security oversees one or more IT Information Security Service Offerings end to end which serve the needs of internal or external customers within Amtrak. In certain cases, the Director may own IT Services and lead them to service delivery. This role owns the CapEx and OpEx budgets associated with assigned Service Offerings / Services, and ensures optimum utilization of investment against the company priorities

The Director IT – Information Security as the Service Offering Owner is the single point of contact ( SPOC) in front of the customer for all aspects of Information security policy, compliance, and strategy  as service offering lead/owner and is accountable for ensuring that the information security service offering is managed with a business focus. The Director is  responsible to the customer for the initiation, elaboration, construction, transition and ongoing maintenance and support of the information security  service offering he/she is accountable to IT Service Owner for the Service Offerings and IT executive leadership for the performance of that dedicated Service Offering / Service (including financial performance).Responsible for producing and maintaining documentation and materials regarding the Service Offering/Service.




•  Lead and manage the resourcing, staffing, training, and execution of the Cyber Defense Engineering team

•  Management of IT security and risk across the enterprise

•  Lead engineering, deployment, integration, and optimization of security tools and technologies

•  Lead requirements definition and capture

•  Develop security policies, processes, and procedures

•  Assign or serve as cybersecurity SME in support of Amtrak projects

•  Promote cybersecurity standards to architects and engineers to improve cybersecurity

•  Provide mentoring, coaching, and technical leadership to team members



•    Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information System with 11 years of experience, or related field with 15+ year’s relevant experience or equivalent work experience.

•    17+ years of relevant work experience in cyber defense and information technology

•    Digital forensics, incident response, security operations, and security analysis experience is required

•    Requires knowledge of Microsoft Azure and Defender technologies

•    CISM, GIAC, or equivalent certifications required


•    Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Management or similar relevant field
•    11 to 15 years of relevant technical experience  
•    Experience working in large complex companies that heavily rely on real time 24x7 IT operations to successfully service external customers.



Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
