The position heads the Pricing and Ancillary Strategy team, which is responsible for creating pricing and ancillary architecture to drive revenue growth. This role interfaces with RM, E-commerce, Loyalty and other commercial teams to construct creative offers, fare structures, fare levels for different customer segments and enables in merchandising them. This role should have a vision for offer management and the associated strategy and execution of the same. This role also has responsibility for the operations teams which does the day-to-day managing of fare filing and other related activities. In addition, this role is responsible for providing test and learn, revenue impact analysis and implementation recommendations for pricing and ancillary strategies and inter-departmental strategic initiatives, revenue management analysis support, and corporate performance metrics. Manage staff responsible for strategy and analytics around pricing and ancillary along with the pricing operations team. Ensure staff retains the technical expertise necessary for the roles that they are in.  



• Staff, train, and manage a group of highly-skilled individuals to accomplish department objectives. 
• Develop a strategy for all pricing and ancillary such as increases, fare structures, fare levels, and fare rules/restrictions and ancillary architecture and offer management. 
• Own Test and Learn of new pricing, inventory and ancillary initiatives and continuously improve upon them. 
• Lead systematic reviews of pricing, offer management and ancillary across the Amtrak system, ensuring that each service offering is positioned to maximize net revenues and ridership. 
• Evaluate the revenue impact of business strategies and initiatives. 
• Develop reports that track and measure both Amtrak and Revenue Management Key Performance Indicators and identify opportunity areas. 
• Respond to ad hoc requests for pricing and/or revenue management analyses. 




• Bachelor’s Degree in Economics or related fields, or equivalent combination of education and training/experience
• 11 years’ work experience in a commercial and pricing environment
• Strong strategic and analytical skill set and offer design/management is critical
• Strategic analysis in a network environment and experience with demand forecasting, customer service analytics and competitive analysis
• Leadership experience in commercial environment
• Experience with sourcing and evaluating financial and operational information from diverse corporate and market data repositories
• Strong strategic and problem-solving skills 
• Self-motivated and self-directed, able to define and pursue key objectives
• Collaborative work style and experience in working with cross-functional teams and numerous stakeholders
• Strong written and verbal communication skills including ability to prepare and make effective presentations to senior leadership 
• Ability to effectively facilitate change and innovation

• MBA or other advanced degree (MS/PhD) in Economics
• 13 years leadership experience in a commercial work environment
