National Railroad Passenger Corporation (Amtrak) has an opening for a Lead Technologist in Washington, DC.

Job Duties:
Research and analyze technologies within area of required expertise. Assess emerging technologies. Evaluate and recommend new products or tools for the organization. Make recommendations and influence long-term technology strategy and planning for multiple business units. Assist in the development and analysis of source selection strategies. Work with service providers to ensure that their in-scope technical solutions are consistent with the enterprise business strategy and architecture. Serve as a consultant and escalation point for issues. Provide project managers with technical consultation and advice, enabling quick response to inquiries related to the program/project. Provide technical analyses to help define, assess, and monitor the technical aspects of the program/project or service. Design innovative solutions using new technologies. Recommend short-term alternatives when appropriate. Troubleshoot existing information systems or networks to identify errors or deficiencies. Brainstorm possible solutions and evaluate alternatives against decision criteria. May lead team responsible for the resolution of support issues escalated by senior operations, development personnel or service provider personnel. Work with vendors during the problem resolution process as needed. Provide technical expertise across business functions. Identify opportunities to improve business processes via new technologies. Provide support for Sr Principal Technologist's representation of Amtrak relevant, industry forums.

Requirements:

Employer will accept Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, followed by five years of progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience in job offered or five years of progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience in a related occupation. Experience must include: 1) SFDC platform; 2) Force.com Sites; 3) Apex; 4) Visualforce (Pages, Component & Controllers); 5) Data Loader; 6) HTML; 7) JavaScript & CSS; 8) Workflow & Approvals; 9) Reports & Dashboards; 10) Custom Objects & Tabs; 11) Email Services; 12) Components & controller; 13) Salesforce Communities; 14) SF Explorer & Eclipse IDE Plug-in.
