National Railroad Passenger Corporation (Amtrak) has an opening for a Principal Apps Sys Engineer in Washington, DC.


Job Duties: Analyze the business requirements and AS-IS business process and provide solution designs. This involved finalizing the TO-BE Business Flows, Prepared BBP for Procurement Process, Master Data & Organization Structure. Serve within the IT team helping Amtrak’s Procure to Pay, Inventory & e-Warehouse management and Ariba on demand and future migration to SAP Procurement department initiative. Serve as an advisor to local line management regarding technology enablement and innovation opportunities. Lead team on SAP MM/WM/SRM and identify the Gap analysis for business users, gather requirements from the business users, and construct the blueprint documents. Serve as SAP MM Support Lead and coordinate the champion operational excellence team for the SAP Blueprint and Connected Applications. Utilize functions including: Master Data, Purchasing, Inventory Management, and MRP, deliveries (Pick/Pack and ship Process and batch Management. Perform DATA Migration using LSMW (Batch input & direct Input), IDOC tool for Data Mapping, Data Gathering Master Data, Transactional Data and initial stock. Serve as SAP Solution Architecture, understanding business requirements and providing solutions within SAP applications. Utilize Material ledger, product costing, asset management, leasing module, controlling with integration of SAP FICO. Serve as SAP SD/MM Conversion Consultant responsible for gathering business requirement, conduct Gap analysis, provide the business solutions, design and implement solutions to meet client’s specific requirements, Data Migration, and Implementation, Testing. Prepare functional specification for PO, GR, GI and reports, Interface for Automatic PR creation through SAP PI from Legacy System. Configure Inventory Management Parameters for all goods movement such as Goods Receipts, Goods Issues, Reservations and Goods Returns. Analyze business processes and training needs, development of curricula, teaching aids and manuals; scheduling of classes; and the training, coordination and supervision of trainers, for SAP. Co-ordinate with SAP COE (Center of Excellence) team on day-to-day support activities and ensure defined KPIs (Key Performance Indicator) are met. Work with RFP for the new upcoming IT projects and resource planning.


Requirements: Employer will accept Master’s degree in Computer Technology or related technical field or related technical field and 2 year(s) of work experience in job offered or 2 year(s) of work experience in a related occupation. Position requires:1) SAP MM/WM/SRM; 2) SAP MM; 3) Integration of SAP FICO; 4) SAP SD/MM; 5) SAP PI from Legacy System; 6) Inventory Management; 7) DATA Migration using LSMW; 8) IDOC tool for Data Mapping; 9) Master Data, Purchasing, MRP, deliveries (Pick/Pack and ship Process) and batch Management; 10) APO Demand Planning, Supply planning configuration of Serialization profiles with integration of PP,QM,MM. Some travel (10%) may be required to work on projects at various, unanticipated sites throughout the U.S. May Telecommute.
