SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Winter/Spring 2026 co-op program starting January 12, 2026.
Will support the Accessibility Office in initiatives advancing Amtrak’s accessibility program to ensure access for people with disabilities in Amtrak’s services, programs, and policies. Assist in the development of materials and technical guidance that support the Accessibility Office communications and planning. Will identify opportunities for accessibility program improvements through data analysis.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Database analysis
- Reviews customer service complaints to determine root causes
- Reviews station on time performance data
- Effective communication of analysis results
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be actively pursuing a degree at an accredited educational institution.
- Must be actively pursuing an undergraduate/graduate degree in Engineering or Data Science.
- Must have at least 1 year of academic undergraduate studies completed or a sophomore status at minimum.
- Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher.
- Understands the principles of database technology to analyze data from sources within the company.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to assess disparate situations.
- Ability to effectively communicate results of data analysis.
- Ability to travel to Amtrak stations and observe customer interactions with employees.
COMMUNICATIONS AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
PAY TRANSPARENCY:
The hourly range is $20.00 per hour - $23.00 per hour. Pay is based on factors including school year, program of study, etc. In addition paid internships include Amtrak rail pass privileges as a part of the experience along with one (1) PTO day per academic year.
