SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
The Sr Finance Technology Manager will perform the business project management responsibilities for an enterprise-wide timekeeping design and implementation project, as well as other Finance technology ad-hoc projects and initiatives, as the Finance Business liaison. Requires working indirectly for and collaboratively with business and functional leaders, excellent organizational skills, problem-solving skills, the ability to lead and drive change throughout the organization and an ability to work with a wide variety and level of business understanding of the solution staff proficiency as the change is implemented. Excellent communication and people skills are vital. Be a motivator, change agent, and a continuous improvement tool expert and technique practitioner who can lead cross-functional projects to successful completion, delivering measurable cost savings, revenue increases or cost avoidance in line with stated goals. Work with assigned IT project managers, business or functional leaders and their representatives to successfully deliver projects.  Develop metrics that provide data for process measurement, including identifying indicators for future improvement opportunities. Provide consultation on process re-engineering to simplify processes and drive consistency while maintaining or improving internal controls. Plan, prioritize, direct and support business line or functional project schedules, resource plans, and budgets. Reports directly to the Senior Director, Financial Systems. 

 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Extensive knowledge of Accounting and Finance processes.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 9 years’ experience in an accounting or finance organization, supporting cross-functional projects in a leadership capacity.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance,  and/or Computer Science or other related degree
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating and leading teams in a "for Profit" business
  • Proven track record managing complex projects.
  • Experience developing and reporting on project progress and developing and presenting results to senior staff in the form of PowerPoint presentations with advanced graphics and charts.
  • Must be proficient at Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint 

 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 11 years’ experience with support functional processes as well as direct operational processes
  • Prior experience with payroll and timekeeping processes/systems
  • Prior experience with Agreement (Union) Staff
  • Knowledge and experience of freight or passenger railroad operations or hospitality/travel industry
  • Experience with Visio or other diagramming tools, and data visualization tools (such as Tableau)
  • Expert knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies, including SCRUM and LEAN/Six Sigma
