SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
The Sr. Social Mediia Specialist must be proactive with experience in creating and executing social media brand marketing strategies. The incumbent will be accountable for leading a dedicated Social Media Marketing vertical, inclusive of organic and paid social. This position works collaboratively with internal and external partners to recommend and implement social media strategies in support of Amtrak’s strategic plan and enterprise priorities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Social Strategy: Incumbent to create and execute campaigns across Facebook, X, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest, TikTok, and Threads based on assigned vertical.
- Agency management: Lead relationship with creative and media agencies to execute social campaigns.
- Content Creation: Support content capture projects, inclusive of field photo shoots on moving trains.
- Community Management: Identify opportunities for Amtrak to jump on trends and engage with brands, influencers, and fans to reach new audiences.
- Partnerships: Collaborate with internal departments, outside brands, and state partners to promote business initiatives and grow brand reach.
- Reporting: Proactively monitoring the flow of social conversation for engagement opportunities and collecting data to facilitate audience analysis and competitive industry reporting.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree required OR equivalent combination of training, education and 8 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- 3 - 6 years of experience in marketing, communications, digital media or social media.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Demonstrated experience and content creation at an enterprise level for most of these social media platforms: Facebook, X, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest, TikTok, and Threads.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills (including editing/proofreading).
- Demonstrated experience generating forward-thinking ideas and creative, engaging social content.
- Extremely detail oriented with experience working with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
- Proactive and autonomous in approach but collaborative in execution.
- Experience with social media management tools
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with social media management system Sprinklr
- Travel industry background
WORK ENVRIORNMENT:
- The incumbent must be able to adapt responsibilities to reflect industry/market/tool changes as proactively as possible, relying on insights and strategy to react and adjust as necessary.
- This position operates in a collaborative cross-functional work environment and provides support to multiple constituents.
- Many projects are deadline driven and the individual must manage time efficiently with minimum supervision in order to respond to situations quickly and accurately.
- May occasionally attend offsite events to execute social components and participate in the capture of content.
- Travel up to 20%
- Work environement is Hybrid 1-2 days per week
COMMUNICATIONS AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
The salary/hourly range is $78,600-$101,844. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, internal equity, etc. Depending on an employee’s assigned worksite or location, Amtrak may consider a geo-pay differential to be applied to the employee’s base salary. Amtrak may offer additional incentive and pay programs to recognize and reward our employees, including a short-term incentive bonus based upon factors such as individual and company performance that is commensurate with the level of the position and/or long-term incentive plan compensation.
