SUMMARY OF DUTIES: 

 

This team works cross-functionally to support Amtrak’s enterprise social channels. The incumbent will focus on engagement opportunities and social listening to support Amtrak’s organic and paid media strategies. This position works collaboratively with internal and external partners to recommend and implement social media strategies in support of Amtrak’s strategic plan and enterprise priorities.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 

  • Identify areas of opportunity for fan outreach, inclusive of platform expansion.
  • Engage opportunities for Amtrak to jump on trends and interact with brands, influencers, and fans to reach new audiences.
  • Proactively monitoring the flow of social to inform campaign development, support new business inquiries and collect data to facilitate audience analysis and competitive industry reporting.
  • Support Loyalty and Customer Experience team as they elevate social care
  • Research communities and niches to support influencer and content creator sourcing
  • Incumbent to support the creation and execution campaigns across Facebook, X, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest, TikTok, and Threads.
  • Collaborate and strategize with internal departments, outside brands, and state partners to promote business initiatives and grow brand reach.
  • Support content capture projects, inclusive of photo shoots on moving trains.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree required OR equivalent combination of training, education and relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 3 - 6 years of experience in marketing, communications, digital media or social media.

 

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

 

• Experience with social media management tools

• Experience in community engagement

• Demonstrated experience and content creation at an enterprise level for most of these social media platforms: Facebook, X, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest, TikTok, and Threads.

• Excellent verbal and written communications skills (including editing/proofreading).

• Demonstrated experience generating forward-thinking ideas and creative, engaging social content.

• Extremely detail oriented with experience working with multiple internal and external stakeholders.

• Proactive and autonomous in approach but collaborative in execution.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

• Experience with social media management system Sprinklr

• Travel industry background

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

 

• The incumbent must be able to adapt responsibilities to reflect industry/market/tool changes as proactively as possible, relying on insights and strategy to react and adjust as necessary.

• This position operates in a collaborative cross-functional work environment and provides support to multiple constituents.

• Many projects are deadline driven and the individual must manage time efficiently with minimum supervision in order to respond to situations quickly and accurately.

• May occasionally attend offsite events to execute social components and participate in the capture of content.

 

COMMUNICATIONS AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:

 

Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.

The salary/hourly range is $78,600.00 – $101,844.00. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. Depending on an employee’s assigned worksite or location, Amtrak may consider a geo-pay differential to be applied to the employee’s base salary. Amtrak may offer additional incentive and pay programs to recognize and reward our employees, including a short-term incentive bonus based upon factors such as individual and company performance that is commensurate with the level of the position and/or long-term incentive plan compensation.
