SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
The Technology Director Operations Technology (OT) Architecture is responsible for providing leadership to ensure technology investments are in alignment with architectural guidelines and business strategy.  The Technology Director OT Architect will work closely with Architects, delivery teams and business stakeholders to develop holistic enterprise-wide strategies and architectures for Asset Management and Linear Assets.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Responsible for collaborating with Service and Business owners to create an architecture and technology plan to support asset management and linear assets.

 

Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to, the following: 

  • Works as a Solutions Architect architecting solutions and strategies for rolling assets as well as linear assets (i.e., railroad tracks, roads or pipelines).
  • Working with IoT concepts regarding asset condition and predictive maintenance. 
  • Working knowledge of asset management systems and concepts.
  • Collaborates with the peers and service owners to ensure service offering is consistent in process and spirit with the Service Offering
  • Confers with IT Service Offering leader and direct reports to develop a plan to ensure architecture is driving technology plans and delivery of technology.
  • Provide architectural direction to projects to ensure that investments deliver on long terms goals and while delivering on short terms business needs.
  • Develop and drive the Operational Technology strategy for Operational Systems and provide leadership in shaping and coordinating an Operational Technology Strategy in regards to asset management and linear assets.
  • Collaborate with delivery teams to ensure that OT Projects are consistent with the agreed OT Strategy

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field with 11+ year’s relevant experience or equivalent work experience.
  • Client expectation management, Program management, Financial management and Technology product delivery experience is required.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing, planning and architecting Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) and Asset Performance Management (APM) for large asset deployments, incorporating fixed, movable and linear assets.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with asset maintenance departments to develop requirements for data capture from assets, data storage and data analytics.
  • Ability to engage with cross-functional teams to map desired outcomes against their current data- recommend actions for any adjustment to data/outcome to ensure successful rollout
  • Requires demonstrated ability to manage multiple architecture engagement and effectively plan and use staff to ensure the architecture view
  • Must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, work well with others in an integrated team environment, and must be self-motivated.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Maximo 7.6 - 8.x configuration capabilities, including applications, workflows, database, security best practices and automation scripting


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Business Management, or similar relevant field
  • 13+ years of relevant work experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of developing a comprehensive EAM/APM solution for Railroad assets (linear and rolling stock) preferably using IBM Maximo version 7.6 - 8.X
  • Experience in applying advanced data analytics, machine learning and/or AI techniques
  • Working knowledge of real-time operating systems


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Work is performed remotely.
  • May require travel up to 30% of the time.

Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.

 

The salary/hourly range is $163,000-$211,140. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. Depending on an employee’s assigned worksite or location, Amtrak may consider a geo-pay differential to be applied to the employee’s base salary. Amtrak may offer additional incentive and pay programs to recognize and reward our employees, including a short-term incentive bonus based upon factors such as individual and company performance that is commensurate with the level of the position and/or long-term incentive plan compensation.
