SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
This role provides critical program support for the RCD1 program by managing the support functions for the RCD1 case specialists.  This role produces RCD1 communication material for managers and employees, presentations to internal customers with supervision from the Sr Manager RCD1 and provides critical workflow support for the transitional duty program (ensuring approved pay submissions are handled, producing transitional duty letters, maintaining lists of external placement locales, etc) 

 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Communication and Marketing:  Produces presentations, flyers, brochures, updates Amtrak intranet to promote RCD1 transitional duty program. Extracts and consolidates metrics from ICS (vendor) and Safety to communicate the impact of the transitional duty program to internal customers. Produces examples of transitional duty success stories. 
  • Program Analytics: Produces and maintains monthly, quarterly and ad hoc reports and analyzes trends that impact the program such as incident new injured worker cases, transitional duty placements and duration, savings related to transitional duty placements, and other monthly KPI metrics. Works with Central Reporting/Safety to identify locations and/or job types of frequent lost time so that focused transitional duty efforts can be applied. 
  • Workflow Support:  Maintains the RCD1 transitional duty reports and reviews reports with the Senior Manager.  Produces letters confirming transitional duty assignments for employees, supervisors and where applicable, external agencies, ensures all aspects of the RCD1 transitional duty pay are handled appropriately, ensures appropriate Injury/Illness forms are uploaded to central system in a timely manner. 
  • Vendor Management support:  ensures all vendor invoices are reviewed and paid, point for recordkeeping vendor monthly reports (program-wide and by claims regions, voc rehab, medical illness, etc). Assists employees with billing for their care. Liaise with vendor and external medical providers to resolve medical bill payment issues. 

 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of training, education and relevant experience. 
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred 
  • Demonstrated skills using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint) and other computer applications.
  • Proactive, “can-do” attitude, effectiveness working diplomatically across customers that may have different objectives
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. Communicates effectively with legal and medical offices external to Amtrak. 
  • Training and/or experience in communication and marketing, 
  • Experience working in a medical office, insurance claims department, 
  • Familiarity with Amtrak work environment is desired.

  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
