SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
This position has primary responsibility for the management of the Food & Beverage information systems for improving cost recovery. This includes developing, improving and maintaining the Warehouse Inventory Management System (WIMS) and Point of Sale (POS)/Microsoft Point of Sale (MPOS) Systems, ensuring accurate and consistent reporting of operational data and results. Coordinates with Amtrak’s IT, Finance, and Transportation departments along with the Managed Services Provider (MSP) in the development and modification of these systems to ensure they perform properly and provide all required reporting and analysis. Manages and provides leadership to enable the seamless implementation of all menu, recipe and product changes. Ensures product compliance by closely monitoring the MSP activity. Partner with the MSP and Amtrak personnel to ensure all food and beverage purchases (in excess of $50M annually) are properly reported in accordance with Amtrak’s financial policies & procedures. Develop and monitor the establishment and enforcement of warehouse management policies and procedures. Maintain, recommend and implement changes and improvements to existing procedures, processes and reports related to food & beverage revenues and inventories that respond to departmental, corporate and stakeholder requirements. Provide training, support and coaching to F&B, Operating Divisions and Managed Services Provider staffs in the accounting and use of F&B systems and reports. Manage and lead all testing for WIMS, F&B systems, and POS/MPOS to meet strict deadlines for deploying to live production.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Lead and direct the continual improvement processes related to development, operation and administration of F&B systems, WIMS and POS/MPOS.
- Develop and maintain policies and procedures necessary to support the F&B systems, WIMS, POS/MPOS, On-Board Services (OBS) and Revenue Operations.
- Manage testing, system issues and upgrades for F&B systems, WIMS and POS/MPOS. Works with Amtrak’s IT, internal and external stakeholders to troubleshoot and reconcile system issues and support all upgrades.
- Administer the implementation of all system enhancements and communicate any related procedural modifications to F&B services and MSP.
- Supports Amtrak Helpdesk with POS/MPOS and WIMS troubleshooting procedures in a timely mater.
- Manage the system administrative functions to ensure security and proper access to the F&B systems, WIMS and POS/MPOS systems.
- Work closely with F&B Culinary Development on new products and system recipe development.
- Partner with MSP to bring common products into all warehouses and reduce SKU’s.
- Provide the F&B Culinary Development team and the OBS community with information and data to support updates to all operational system changes related to F&B services.
- Manages the vendor setup process for WIMS and is the direct contact for vendor(s) in resolving any invoice, billing and payment issues with Amtrak’s Accounts Payable department (AP), IT, Finance and MSP.
- Provides group and one-on-one instruction and learning for all F&B systems.
- Implement and provide analytical reports to the Senior Director of F&B, F&B Directors and Managers on warehouse inventory values, LSA sales/revenues and expenses.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Transportation, Business, Accounting or an equivalent combination of education, experience and training.
- Minimum five (5) years managerial experience encompassing planning, budgeting, inventory management, facility management, contract management and program implementation.
MINIMUM KSA (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
- Strong financial acumen and familiarity with F&B financial reporting and technology.
- Ability to efficiently and accurately analyze current performance trends and identify leading indicators for future trends.
- Demonstrated ability to access people, operations, equipment, revenue opportunities and work with the on-site teams to implement change and results.
- Skilled communicator and writer who can get the point across and tailor communications for the receiving audience.
- Highly effective team player who enjoys working across many organizational lines and levels while functionally well when confronted with multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Demonstrated skills with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Access, PowerPoint, SQL, Business Objects, SAP.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Demonstrated Project Management experience.
- Warehouse Management or Inventory Control experience.
- Point of Sale systems and retail reporting.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Travel up to 25% (via airplane, train and automobile).

The salary/hourly range is $118,500.00-$153,570.00. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, internal equity, etc. Depending on an employee’s assigned worksite or location, Amtrak may consider a geo-pay differential to be applied to the employee’s base salary. Amtrak may offer additional incentive and pay programs to recognize and reward our employees, including a short-term incentive bonus based upon factors such as individual and company performance that is commensurate with the level of the position and/or long-term incentive plan compensation.
