Job Summary
Lead the financial planning, analysis, reporting, and strategic finance activities for the company's Operations Department. Partner with the Chief Operations Officer, develop and oversee financial processes, and lead a team of financial directors to execute the company's financial goals.
Essential Functions
- Own, lead and improve all aspects of the Operations financial processes and deliverables, including budgets, forecasts, financial analysis, reporting, monthly close support, variance analysis, presentations, and capital business cases.
- Lead the development and management of the department’s operating and capital annual plan, 5-year plan and monthly forecasts.
- Partner with and provide support to the Chief Operations Officer and other Operations leaders to build and execute the department’s short-term and long-term financial plans.
- Partner with Operations leaders and support functions to identify and implement initiatives that deliver sustainable cost savings
- Develop capital business cases to support capital investment requests.
- Create processes and build data driven financial models to improve forecasting, support decision making and drive strategic initiatives.
- Lead development and deliver regular and timely reporting, financial analysis, insight and commentary to senior leadership.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education, training and/or relevant experience.
- Plus 13 years of relevant work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education, training and/or relevant experience.
- Plus 15 years of relevant work experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- Strong financial modeling and analytical skills
- Skilled with financial management of large capital portfolios
- Ability to create and maintain excellent working relationships with senior level business partners
- Competent to lead and work in a high production environment with frequently changing priorities and respond quickly and effectively under pressure and deadlines
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint and enterprise financial planning systems
The salary/hourly range is $187,500.00 – $242,892.00. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. Depending on an employee’s assigned worksite or location, Amtrak may consider a geo-pay differential to be applied to the employee’s base salary. Amtrak may offer additional incentive and pay programs to recognize and reward our employees, including a short-term incentive bonus based upon factors such as individual and company performance that is commensurate with the level of the position and/or long-term incentive plan compensation.
